The kids arrived at 4:00 for our first family dinner night. We will now have them every Wednesday from after school until 7, and every other weekend from Friday to Sunday. It's not all we want, but it is a fantastic start.
Our first Wednesday together we took the kids to Walmart to buy supplies for the birthday party we're having for Ani on Saturday. She was excited about getting to pick out her own party favors.
Afterwards, we headed over to Chick-Fil-A. The kids each had a chicken nuggets meal, and they all ate really well. Then we let them play in the play area. They had so much fun going up and down the slides and making growling noises at each other. Aleck got pretty tired after a while and climbed on Karri's lap, hugged her tight, and twirled Karri's hair around her finger. It was so sweet.
Meanwhile, Aaron held and fed Abram, rocking him in his arms and keeping him happy. He didn't cry once all night. But he doesn't cry much in general - he's a happy baby.
At 6:45 we finished our play and packed the kids in the car. We returned them to their mother at 7:00, exchanging happy goodbye's since we are going to spend this weekend together.
